Despite the current Covid-19 pandemic we have in recent years generally experienced a positive development in our health, due to more efficient healthcare systems, groundbreaking research and innovative new health tech startups creating new solutions and products.
Combined with large generations we stand on the shores of a rising sea of demographic changes called “The Silver Tsunami”. It will soon change how we as individuals and society understand and experience aging and healthcare.
It creates a situation of contradiction. As we are getting older the costs of healthcare increases, but the public budgets are in many countries under pressure and will further be in the Covid-19 aftermath. At the same time our demands and expectations for higher quality and level of customization increase.
How can we together create a healthcare system that is geared for the future needs and demands? A healthcare system that is centered around the individual and better understands and meets the needs. And a healthcare system that focuses on empowerment and prevention that can help us live not only longer, but also stronger.
